    Summary

    The grant supports nursing programs that wish to establish or enhance involvement in NSNA by their school club or NSNA chapter thereby developing leadership skills among nursing students at the school level. 

    Funds are only provided for the following:

    • School clubs wishing to create an official NSNA chapter. For more information about starting a chapter, refer to Getting the Pieces to Fit available on www.nsna.org under "publications".or
    • Special initiatives/activities of an official NSNA Chapter where leadership principles can be applied and learned, and that promote the advancement of NSNA Resolutions adopted by the NSNA House of Delegates within the last ten years. (Note: a portion of the funds can be used to support attendance at NSNA meetings or conventions).

    The school that received the grant is recognized at the NSNA Annual Convention during the Opening Ceremony. The 64th NSNA Annual Convention takes place at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida. The Opening Ceremony is on Wednesday evening, March 30, 2016.

    Additional Information

    Funds may not be used to fund faculty to state and national NSNA meetings or conventions. Grant awards will be made in the name of the school of nursing and not an individual.

  • Eligibility Details

    A faculty advisor from  Higher Education Institution's nursing program must apply for the grant. Individual students are not eligible to apply for this opportunity on behalf of their program or student organization.

    Deadline Details

    The deadline for receipt of the application is Friday, February 12, 2016. A similar deadline is anticipated annually.

    Award Details

    One award is expected to be made up to $2,500.
